As far as the GPU internals are concerned, to sustain such power, there is a clear indication that the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition uses top-of-the-line hardware. Starting with heat dissipation, ASUS has implemented its MaxContact technology, designed to improve head conduction from the GPU die. ASUS achieved this by improving the smoothness of the heat spreader, allowing for a more even and hence, more efficient heat transfer.

VRM design is very important to check when buying a graphics card. In the case of the RTX 3080 Ti, only the ASUS ROG Strix variants have better VRM than the Founder’s edition of the GPU. This beast of a GPU uses a 22-phase Dr.Mos VRM divided into 12, 6, and 4 sectors; it is one of the best designs on a graphics card, allowing for stable power consumption, even at high loads.

High-quality MOSFETs and capacitors accompany the VRM design, used to ensure no hiccups while operating this beast of a graphics card. After all, it has to sustain 9% more MHz than the Founder’s Edition GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, right outside the box. No compromises and high-quality materials have allowed ASUS to create a beefy and formidable GPU that can reach new limits.

Power consumption is a factor you should not overlook when thinking about this GPU. The manufacturer suggests using an 850W PSU with this graphics card; it will not use all of that 850W, but it will undoubtedly use more than half. The GPU has a TDP of around 450W under full load; it needs three 8-pin PCIe connectors for fulfilling its hunger.

We love the ASUS ROG Strix Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition for many reasons, the first one being its excellent design. The impressive design adds an impression of sleekness, power, and modernity to your system, which will outshine your build. This time, we’ve got the ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition, and the liquid-cooled GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. This GPU is perfect for tasks that significantly drive the temperature, like gaming or video editing. Whether you want to play Forza with cranked-up settings or have to train AI models with a full load on the GPU, this liquid-cooled beast is perfect for anything and is ready to face the challenges.

The ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition brings the best of Nvidia and ASUS in one package, featuring second-generation RT cores and third-generation tensor cores, it is one of the most powerful graphics cards on the market.  If you are moving from an older graphics card, even from the Nvidia’s 2000 series GPUs,  you will notice a huge performance jump.

The ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition boasts higher clock speeds than the simple OC edition of the graphics card, with 1860 MHz in OC mode and 1830 MHz in gaming mode. It also has a 12 GB GDDR6X memory, which is plenty. The graphic card consumes a ton of power which is evident because it can consume up to 400W power when under full load.

Cooling is something that may be concerning you, given that this graphics card has one fan only. The LC in the name means that the fan is not even the primary cooling source of this GPU, and ASUS still has included it anyway. With liquid cooling, any heat generated gets instantly dissipated, thanks to the full-coverage cold plate that allows for contact with the GPU die and the memory, making it the Best Water Cooled GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card.

The massive 240mm radiator is perfect for keeping temperatures low and sustaining performance; you won’t encounter temperature issues with the ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition. Now, this is something that you cannot say for some other variants of the graphics card.

The ASUS ROG Strix 3080 Ti LC variant has a different VRM spec than the non-liquid cooled one. It has an 18-phase VRM controlled by two MP2888A controllers, which can handle ten power phases each, making it extremely impressive.

With such a beefy VRM, one can expect this card to consume umpteen power. The question arises: what power supply will suit it? An 850W one is a way to go for supporting the 3080 Ti wattage. The GPU has a TDP of 400W; you can also expect minor spikes, which is why a strong PSU is recommended.  If you want to establish yourself as a true ASUS fan, you should get one of their ROG Strix 3080 Ti power supply. As expected, they have a futuristic design, which will help your PC stand out.

ASUS ROG Strix 3080 Ti LC doesn’t just look great; it also has excellent hardware. Unlike brands like Palit, which make great-looking cards but with not-so-great build quality, this liquid-cooled RTX 3080 Ti is unlike anything you have ever seen or laid hands on. Its build quality easily supersedes that of the 3080 Ti Founders Edition.

Honestly, there is nothing much to dislike about this ROG Strix GPU. That means it is a nearly perfect GPU, as long as you can install it. Yes, installing this graphics card can be tricky due to its large size. But that is the only obstacle or issue you will face with it. Other than that, owning this variant has nothing but pure benefits.

Even though the ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition is an excellent choice if you want to play the latest games, it does have some downsides.

Firstly, it’s challenging to get at MSRP. ASUS ROG Strix LC is one of the most expensive gaming GPUs on the market, and even though we love it, we can’t recommend it as a good value for your money. It’s also more maintenance-intense than other graphics cards because it is liquid-cooled.

The ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition is an overclockable graphics card that can output insane power while taking in a lot.

In our opinion, the ASUS ROG Strix LC is one of the Best Versions of 3080 Ti Graphics Card on the market. It can maintain temperatures pretty well; even when overclocked to its limits, you won’t see any thermals-related issues in the ROG Strix LC. That said, ASUS ROG Strix LC Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Edition has the highest boost clock among all the versions of 3080 Ti, making it ideal for overclocking enthusiasts. If you’re looking for a graphics card that can cooperate the way you push it, ASUS ROG Strix LC OC Edition is the best 3080 Ti money can buy.

You might be thinking about why it earned the top spot. Although the GPU requires more maintenance and is somewhat difficult to install, the liquid-cooled ROG Strix RTX 3080 Ti is still an amazing graphics card. It can pump out a lot of FPS while not burning itself up in the process. If you can get it at the 3080 Ti MSRP, you should not give the purchase a second thought. But we can safely say that it is the Best Water Cooled RTX 3080 Ti.

Specifications: Type: Dimensions: 300 x 136.75 mm | Base Clock: 1188 MHz | Boost Clock: 1800 MHz | Bandwidth: 912GB/s | Recommended PSU: 750W | Power Connectors: 3x 8-pin | RGB: Yes

EVGA is another excellent company that has been making its name in the GPU market for quite some time. They make the most premium graphics cards, and their RTX line-up is no exception.

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming is a solid choice among other graphics cards. It comes with a whopping 10240 CUDA cores and 12GB of blazing fast GDDR6X memory, which makes it one of the fastest consumer-grade GPUs on the market today. It consumes around 450W of power, considerably higher than the ASUS ROG Strix liquid-cooled variant.

EVGA’s GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming is a solid graphics card designed with lag-free 4K gaming in mind, and it’s been tested to ensure that. The iCX3 interactive cooling system keeps the graphics card components cool and efficient, with maximum contact between the components and the cooling system, ensuring that your card will last longer than other cards on the market.

The triple fan design allows quieter operation than most cards and helps manage heat better than other cards. You can also use the same software to control the RGB LEDs; you can customize them to your liking and enjoy gaming like never before.

With the graphics card getting up to 1800 MHz, you will experience a significant difference in performance with the overclock. Moreover, the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti has a better VRM than the liquid-cooled ASUS ROG Strix variant. Comprising a 19-phase VRM, it can regulate voltage slightly better than the previous one and is capable of sustaining loads for a much longer time.

Thanks to that VRM design, the card can consume up to 452W on full load, which is a lot of power. But surprisingly, EVGA recommends getting a 750W power supply for this GPU instead of 850 W, which ASUS does. That’s because it’s important to have enough headroom for overclocking and running intensive games like Battlefield V or Apex Legends at high settings and resolutions. Current generation CPUs can take in close to 100W-150W. So, that leaves very little headroom for other components. Therefore, we would still advise getting an 850W PSU with this graphics card.

Still, the card remains cool and quiet even when drawing so much power, thanks to its designed cooling system with such power consumption in mind. The fans are quieter than other cards when they’re spinning but still manage to keep the card running cool at all times. All these strengths are among many reasons people consider this variant the Best Overall GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

We’re huge fans of the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming. It offers excellent 4K gaming, surpassing the 3090 with the right overclock.

The EVGA Precision X1 software is superb, offering an easy-to-use interface and a high level of control over your card. You can set custom fan curves, enable any lighting effects that you wish, and even create custom profiles for your games so that they will run at peak performance when you need them to.

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming is a great card with high power consumption. It requires two 8-pin power connectors and a 750W minimum power supply. That means you’ll probably need to have an upgrade from your current power supply to meet the 3080 Ti PSU requirements.

If you’re looking for an upgrade from your current graphics card, this one will give you what you need; better gaming performance, more overclocking potential, increased stability in high-resolution games, and just about anything else.

The EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming is a no-brainer. It’s one of the top choices if you want to play games on a high-end PC and don’t mind paying a premium price for one of the best graphics cards available today. It’s not the Best RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card on the market, but it is a strong contender for the competition.

Choosing the Best RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card is not an easy task. There are many factors to consider, and it can take longer to narrow down the choices. With multiple variants in the market, it becomes quite hectic to choose the right ones. We at Tech4Gamers, know what gamers need, so they don’t have to research anything before you buy the card of your choice. The factors that we took into account are:

VRM stands for Voltage Regulator Module, an important part of any graphics card. The VRM on a graphics card helps regulate the power going to the GPU core, ensuring your graphics card can run at its full potential without overheating or damaging itself. The VRM also ensures that your graphics card can handle heavy loads without breaking down or running too hot. We made sure to choose cards with top-notch VRMs to get maximum performance from each product on our list.

We also chose to rank the best RTX 3080 Ti variants based on their power limit because this is the single most important factor in determining gaming performance. The power limit is the maximum amount of power you can provide to the graphics card to get maximum performance from the GPU. The higher a graphics card’s power limit, the more headroom it has to run at higher clock speeds, which results in greater performance.

We look at this first and foremost because it’s what will determine how fast your gaming experience is. You want to be able to play your favorite games with a lag-free, breathtaking experience, and we’re here to help you get there. We chose and ranked the graphics cards by carefully analyzing which variants provide the highest fps for hours on end while maintaining temperatures.

Cooler design is another important factor we considered when selecting this guide. We wanted to ensure that all our chosen variants have coolers capable of keeping their GPUs running at optimal temperatures while also being quiet enough for extended gaming sessions without distracting from gameplay audio. Variants such as the liquid-cooled RTX 3080 Ti are silent performers. You will not find better and more silent variants than the ones listed in this guide.

We also looked critically at the temperature of each card while it’s under heavy load; this is our way of determining its cooling capabilities. If a card doesn’t have good cooling capabilities, it can overheat and damage itself or other components in your system during extended use. That’s why temperature is another important factor when deciding which RTX 3080 Ti variant suits your needs.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is a clear winner over the RTX 3080 in gaming performance.

Both cards feature the same GA-102 chipset, but the 3080 Ti has 10240 CUDA cores while the 3080 has 8704 CUDA cores. That’s a significant difference between playing at 1440p on Ultra settings with 60 fps or 4K on High with 30 fps. It might not seem like much, but if you’re looking for an upgrade, it could be worth it.

The texture mapping units (TMUs) are 272 in the 3080 and 320 in the 3080 Ti; same numbers for tensor cores; 3080 Ti has 12 more Ray Tracing cores; 10GB of VRAM on the 3080 and 12GB on the 3080 Ti; bus width is larger on the 3080 Ti.

But the fact that there is not a huge difference between the cards leads to an easy conclusion that the 3080 Ti is just a beefed-up version of the RTX 3080.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has a slightly lower reference boost clock at 1665 MHz than the GeForce RTX 3080, which features a reference boost clock of 1710 MHz. However, even at lower boost clocks, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti still manages to surpass the performance of the GeForce RTX 3080.

Performance aside, both GPUs are extremely efficient and can do whatever task you put on them, and thus both of these GPUs are very power hungry, there’s a negligible difference between the power limits of both of these GPUs, the GeForce RTX 3080 will draw up to 320W most of the time, while the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will consume up to 350W; So, whatever GPU you choose, be prepared to pair it up with at least a 700W power supply.

Mining on either GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 3080 is not a good idea, as the software driver that runs both of these cards, automatically detects if they are being used for mining and cut the hash rate in half, thus severely limiting the mining profitability. Though, if you still want to mine with either of these GPUs, you can expect a 112.78MH/s hash rate during Ethereum mining on GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and a 97.88MH/s hash rate with GeForce RTX 3080. The average profit per day with both of these GPUs is about 2 dollars, which will take you about 2 years to just get your investment back.

If we had to choose one graphics card that can topple the RTX 3080 Ti in terms of performance, then that is the RTX 3090.

The RTX 3090 Ti comprises 10496 CUDA cores, 328 tensor cores, 112 ROPs, and 24 GB of VRAM, while the RTX 3080 Ti boasts 10240 CUDA cores, 320 tensor cores, 112 ROPs, and 12 GB of VRAM.

Both graphics cards share the same GA-102 processors with a bus width of 384 bit and base/boost clocks at 1360 MHz/1695 MHz for the RTX 3090 and 1360 MHz/1665 MHz for the RTX 3080 Ti. On top of that, both of these GPUs have the same power requirements, as they both can consume power up to 350W; keeping the power-hungriness of both of these GPUs in mind, you will need a power supply of at least 700W to power up your dream build.

As you can see, both of these graphics cards are almost identical in terms of performance. So, if you are considering buying the 3090, you should settle for a 3080 Ti instead. It is a bit cheaper, and there is little to no performance difference.

Since the release of GeForce RTX 3060 LHR, Nvidia is implementing Lite Hash Rate technology in all its latest GPUs, to discourage miners from buying them. That’s why even with GeForce RTX 3090, we don’t see good mining results, it provides roughly 121.16MH/s hash rate on ETH mining, while the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti offers a 112.78 MH/s hash rate.

The 6900 XT is one of AMD’s top offerings and is an excellent graphics card. It comes in at roughly half the price of the RTX 3090 and delivers comparable performance. But how does it stack up against the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti? Let’s find out.

Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Ti is a beast of a graphics card. It has double the CUDA cores compared to AMD’s 6900 XT. Another major difference between these two GPUs is that there are no tensor cores on AMD’s 6900 XT (or any other Navi card yet released). At the same time, Nvidia has 320 tensor cores built into its 3080 Ti graphics cards, implying that Nvidia’s GPU will outperform its competitors in terms of AI capabilities.

The base clock for the 6900 XT is 1825 MHz, but its boost clock is 2250 MHz, a vast difference compared to its competitor. The 3080 Ti has a base clock of 1350 MHz, with a boost clock of 1455 MHz, making it slower than its AMD counterpart in terms of clock speed. The 6900 XT also has 16GB VRAM, while the 3080 Ti has only 12GB.

The RTX 3080 Ti has more bandwidth than its competitor; however, this isn’t enough to compensate for its lack of memory capacity and lower base clock speed.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has proved to be much more power hungry than the 6900 XT, it has a rated power limit of 350W, while that of the 6900 XT is just 300W; so you better have a power supply that can meet the power demands of both of these beasts.

Still, both of these graphics cards trade blows with each other. The RTX pulls ahead, but you should not forget that it is more expensive than the 6900 XT.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti offers a 112.78MH/s hash rate during Ethereum mining, while the 6900 XT severely lags behind, with a hash rate of just 64.08MH/s. The average profit you can earn with GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is roughly $2 per day, however, the 6900 XT only gives $1.4 average profit per day. You would have to wait for a long time with both of these GPUs, just to get your money back.

The 3080 Ti doesn’t have a mining limiter implying that you can mine at the maximum hash rate, allowing you to mine more efficiently and get more profitability in less time which is pretty good news for cryptocurrency miners.

Although the 3080 Ti can be liquid-cooled, it is not a requirement. Some high-end brands like EVGA and ASUS have made excellent variants that keep the temperatures cool and performance stable. There are also liquid-cooled variants that are better at sustaining loads and managing temperatures more efficiently. Still, simple versions are pretty good.

The 3080 Ti does not support SLI, but it’s not surprising. The technology has had little use in recent years, and Nvidia decided to drop the connectors altogether to make the product more cost-effective. Using two GPUs would result in performance drops because applications did not use the technology.
